There is no doubt that some quality has been added to the squad during the January window, retaining Daniel Kanu, and the deadline day return of Jid Okeke strengthens an area where depth and quality really matter for Sadlerball. Several supporters recognise improvement in key positions and the potential within the group.

The strength of reaction yesterday evening, however, suggests that many fans feel the window stops just short of showing the level of ambition needed to properly push on, particularly in attacking areas and in light of last season’s drastic decline. That sense of “almost, but not quite” is where much of the frustration sits.

With the squad now settled and 18 games still to play, the focus turns to how this group performs on the pitch. Results and performances over the coming weeks will ultimately determine whether the decisions taken prove sufficient.

As a Trust, we will continue to reflect supporter sentiment honestly and constructively, maintain dialogue with the club, and support the team and the fanbase as the season reaches a crucial stage.
