The Walsall Football Supporters Trust is excited to announce that our new club chaplain, Joe Clark, attended his first Supporters Trust Board Meeting on Thursday, 10th October. Joe’s appointment marks a new chapter for Walsall FC, where the chaplain will play an essential role in supporting both the players and the wider club community.

During the meeting, Joe shared an overview of his responsibilities at the club, emphasising his focus on providing pastoral care and spiritual support to players, staff, and fans alike. His role is seen as integral in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment at Walsall FC.

One of the key topics discussed was the planning of this year’s Christmas Carol Service, which is set to take place prior to the Barrow game on Saturday, 14th December. This service has become a cherished tradition, bringing together fans, players, and staff to celebrate the festive season. Joe will be heavily involved in organising the event, and we’re looking forward to working with him to make it a memorable occasion for everyone.

In addition to the Christmas Carol Service, the Supporters Trust was recently approached about the potential for a dedicated prayer room at the stadium, offering a quiet space for reflection and prayer for all who attend matches and events. Trust Board Member Helen Thorpe-Wood confirmed that this request had been raised with the board, and Joe noted that he had already discussed the matter with the club. Discussions are ongoing, and we are optimistic that this facility will provide a welcoming and inclusive space for fans of all faiths.

The Walsall FC Supporters Trust is delighted to welcome Joe to the club, and we’re confident that his involvement will have a positive impact on both the football club and its community. We look forward to working together on these exciting projects in the coming months.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Christmas Carol Service and the potential prayer room at the stadium!
