We warmly welcome Walsall Football Club’s achievement of Bronze status in the EFL Equality Code of Practice. This is a commendable milestone and reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to fostering Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) both on and off the pitch. The introduction of new initiatives, such as the matchday reporting system, diversity surveys, and targeted campaigns like Unite for Access and Her Game Too, are positive steps forward in promoting a more inclusive environment for all supporters.
However, while we celebrate this achievement, we must also recognise that Bronze status represents just the beginning of a longer journey towards true equality and inclusivity. There is still much work to be done to ensure that these values are deeply embedded in every aspect of the club’s operations and culture. We encourage the club to continue its efforts, aiming for even higher standards and broader impact as we collectively strive to make Walsall FC a beacon of diversity and inclusion within the football community.
The Trust looks forward to collaborating with the club, supporting current initiatives that make our club a truly welcoming place for all as well as extending provision more widely, too. We are confident that together, we can achieve even greater progress in the near future.
